Meet our horses
Waffle
Meet Waffle! Waffle is an 18 year old, liver chestnut, 18hh Belgian Draft horse gelding. He has the biggest puppy dog personality. He loves scratches and snuggles!
Petey
Meet Petey! Petey is a 16 year old, black, 16.3hh Percheron draft horse gelding. Petey can be shy at first, but once he warms up to you he will follow you around all day long.
Joey
Meet Joey! Joey is a 14 year old, chestnut, 16.3hh thoroughbred/warmblood cross gelding. Joey has the best ground manners, and he loves treats, especially bananas!
Bowie
Meet Bowie! Bowie is a 5 year old 32" tall leopard appaloosa miniature horse gelding. Bowie has a huge personality, and it shows. He can be a bit pushy, but he really is a good boy who just wants to please. He's been nicknamed the barn trouble maker!
Nutmeg
Meet Nutmeg! Nutmeg is a bay, 19 year old 39" tall miniature horse mare. Nutmeg is as sweet as pie, but don't let her fool you she has plenty of spunk. She loves food of any and all variety, and her best friend is Eggnog.
Eggnog
Meet Eggnog! Eggnog is a grey, 10 year old 36" miniature horse mare. Eggnog is shy, and can be very timid. She has come a long way learning how to trust people again, but she is still very spooky.. Eggnog is blind in her left eye. She loves running around with her best friend Nutmeg!
Gus
Meet Gus! Gus is a 15 year old, 15.3hh Quarter Horse gelding. Gus is a bit on the timid side, but he is a very good boy who aims to please at all times. He has a lovely personality! Gus seems to enjoy eating, and he loves his neighbor, Myrtle, to pieces!
Lily
Meet Lily! Lily is a grey, 7 year old, standard donkey Jenny. Lily is shy, and rather fearful, however she is sweet as can be. She brays so loud, she is like having an alarm system. She loves to eat her straw, and wander around, and taking naps in the sunshine!
Ophelia
Meet Ophelia! Ophelia is an aged 20+, 32 inch, very tiny, mini donkey Jenny. She is very, very sweet, and likes to take walks around the farm and eat grass. She loves apples, and molasses treats.
Olive
Meet Olive! Olive is around 5 years old, 34 inch, miniature mare. She is a bit shy but very kind and sweet. Olive was very sick, and was rescued along side her very sick foal, Pimento.
Pimento
Meet Pimento! Pimento is a yearling, 35 inch, miniature filly. She is extremely sweet and super inquisitive about everything! Pimento has a huge personality, and she loves to chase her Jolly ball!
Gingersnap
Meet Gingersnap! Gingersnap is an aged, Belgian draft mare. Gingersnap is loved on and has been adopted by one of our amazing farriers and supporters, Amanda and her family!

Our Personal Horses
Our personal horses are NOT rescues but they play an important role in the lives of our rescue horses. They provide a bridge between the rough past lives of our rescue horses, and their new, peaceful lives. They provide friendship and companionship that help make the transition from stressed, scared auction horse, to calm, peaceful, retired resident. Meet our group of personal horses, who all play a role in helping our sanctuary horses.
Magic
Meet Minister of Magic aka Magic! Magic is a dark bay, 17 year old, 16.2hh American Quarter Horse. Magic used to be a therapeutic riding horse, before he transitioned into a show horse. He showed locally for several years, before we retired him in 2019. Now, he spends his days with his friends and going on a trail ride occasionally; anyone who knows him, loves him. He has been a friend to several of our rescues including Joey, Waffle, and Bowie!
Meatball
Meet Mr. Meatball aka Meatball! Meatball is a 10 year old, sorrel American Quarter Horse gelding, standing a stout 15hh. Meatball is a fairly new arrival, but he has already made friends with lots of the rescues. He is goofy, and sweet, and loves water. He's like a little submarine!
Bucky
Meet Zips Standup Double aka Bucky! Bucky is a buckskin, 19 year old, 15.2hh American Quarter Horse. Bucky was a very good show horse, earning his AQHA Register Of Merit in western pleasure and trail. He competed from the time he was 2 years old until he was 10 years old, when he was retired due health complications. He was a very accomplished show horse, both regionally and in national standings. He has been a friend to Gus, Joey, and Nutmeg, helping them to relax into their new lives!
